RUSSIA--IMPERIAL. State Credit Note. 5 Rubles, 1878. P-A43. PMG Very Fine 30.
A later 1878 date is found on this 5 Rubles State Credit Note. Arms are depicted at left on the obverse, with a crown above. The reverse of the note depicts Dmitry Donskoy, who would go down in Russian history for his defeat of the Tatars in 1380 at the Battle of Kulikovo. PMG has graded just nine examples of this pick number, with this example tied for top pop. PMG Pop 2/None Finer. PMG comments "Internal Tears."
