DOMITIAN, A.D. 81-96. Cappadocia, Caesarea. AR Didrachm (7.19 gms), dated RY 13 (A.D. 93/4). NGC EF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 5/5. Fine Style.
RPC-2, 1669; Syd-124. Obverse: Laureate head right; Reverse: Athena standing right, holding spear and owl; ЄTO-IΓ (date) across field. Though not exactly a difficult type to find, this example presents quality that is RARELY seen in Flavian provincial coinage, offering great metal that is free from issue and a charming cabinet tone with hints of brilliance remaining as well. An incredible piece from late in the reign of Domitian, and one which should generate great enthusiasm.
