Roman Imperial, Octavian Augustus, Cistophorus

Very interesting cistophorus of Octavian Augustus. Cistophores were silver Greek tetradrachm coin minted in Asia Minor in the 2nd-1st centuries BC and then by some Roman emperors up to and including Hadrian (117-138). This denomination corresponded to three denarii.

Bardzo ciekawy cystofor Oktawiana Augusta. Cystofory były srebrną monetą grecką o nominale tetradrachmy, bitą w Azji Mniejszej w II-I wieku pne, a następnie przez niektórych cesarzy rzymskich do Hadriana (117-138) włącznie. Nominał ten odpowiadał trzem denarom.
