Aelius was the adopted son of Emperor Hadrian. He was elevated to the dignity of Caesar by him and was expected to be a successor, but unfortunately he died a few months before Hadrian. He is entitled L AELIVS CAESAR on his coins and is depicted with an uncovered head, curly hair, a beard, and a majestic face.

Aeliusz był adoptowanym synem cesarza Hadriana. Został wyniesiony przez niego do godności cezara i był przewidywany na następcę, niestety zmarł kilka miesięcy przed Hadrianem. Na swoich monetach nosi tytuł L AELIVS CAESAR i jest przedstawiony z odkrytą głową, kręconymi włosami, brodą oraz majestatyczną twarzą.
