SASANIAN KINGDOM: Yazdigerd I, 399-420, AR drachm (4.08g), DA + GW, G-147, SNS-A20, very rare variety, with the mint abbreviation GW both on the obverse, left of the king's crown, and on the reverse, left of the fire atop the altar; the DA mint (Darabjird) appears retrograde to the right of the fire, EF-AU, RR. GW is normally the abbreviation for Gurgan near the Caspian coast, but this must be a different mint in Fars province, as the DA series with branch mints are always within that province.
