ARAB-SASANIAN: Anonymous, AE fals or pashiz (3.02g), Kirman, AH95, A-45.1, unpublished type, with Pahlavi text on obverse (perhaps Pahlavi translation of the Muslim kalima), Arab reverse: bism Allah / darb kirman / sana khams / wa tis'in, historically important, strong Fine, RRR. This is the second known Arab-Sasanian copper coin of the mint of Kirman, dated AH95 within the caliphal reign al-Walid I, written out in words in Arabic. Standard Umayyad copper coins of Kirman have just been discovered, and an example will appear in our next Auction #42. Silver dirhams of the Kirman mint are common. Same dies as the first specimen, sold in our Auction 31, Lot 185.
