ALMOHAD:LOT of 19 examples of the Christian imitations of the Almohad (Muwahhidun) silver square millares, struck in the 13th century, type A-498; all in VF or better grades; retail value $850, lot of 19 pieces. According to Tonagawa, these were struck at undetermined locations in Aragon and southern France for use in trade with the Muslim states in North Africa.
