UNITED STATES: mining stock certificates, 1908 to 1914, 7 stock certificates for the P. B. Steifer Mining Company of Chico, CA, with 5 of the certificates still in the company issue booklet, with 4 of the certificates being cancelled, and includes many retained stubs of issued certificates in the booklet, certificates vary from VG to EF grades. A very interesting item from the late Gold Rush era. While the company was based in Chico, CA in Butte County, the mine was in the Sierra Nevada foothills near the small town of Magalia. The mine produced $40-50 million dollars worth of gold before closing in 1926. The family, still the owners of the land, are currently trying to arrange new mining activity.
Estimate: 100-140 USD
