GREAT MONGOLS: Chingiz Khan, 1206-1227, AV dinar (3.56g), Samarqand, AH621, A-3700B, cf. Zeno-265552, in the name of Chingiz Khan, of which only "Khan" is visible; the full obverse legend (clear on Zeno-265552) is khani / (chingiz) khan / al-'adil al-a'zam / shah jahan / gir", with the kalima on the reverse and the mint name above, of which only the last two letters are visible; extremely rare, apparently the third known specimen, and from much cruder dies that the other two, whcih appear to be from the same obverse die; about 35% flat strike, crude VF, RRR. The last word on the obverse is clearly "gir" and settles the conflict over alternative interpretations of that word as "kabir" or "takesh".
