ILKHAN: Arghun, 1284-1291, LOT of 28 examples of type A-2156R, ruler's name in Arabic on obverse, with the mint name below (only Shafurqan, with the much rarer Herat mint not represented in this group; about half with legible mint name, all with some weakness or flatness; kalima and sikka Balkh below on the reverse, indicating that this piece followed the standard of the Balkh region, mostly VF condition, a few better; retail value $850, lot of 28 pieces. Newly discovered type, from a hoard of at least 125 pieces.
