Fine frontispiece plate; vii, (1), 318, (4) pages, text illustrations, 2 map plates, 7 fine plates of coins in text volume; xi, (1) pages, double-page map, 66 very fine plates of coins, loose as issued in folder; titles printed in red and black. Binding and plate folder lightly worn, with rubbing to edges; occasional browning. Near fine, overall. One of the most superbly produced and visually appealing works ever published on ancient numismatics. Esemplare numero 234 of only 425 sets issued. Clain-Stefanelli 2202*: "Chiefly concerned with the esthetic aspect of the coinage." Daehn 2972. Grierson 63.
