Folio [41.5 by 32.5 cm], later matching black polished calf, both front boards handsomely decorated with an embossed armorial device incorporating the ducal arms of Saxe-Altenburg, Eisenberg, Jülich and Berg in gilt, red, blue, and black, and inlaid with silver; decorative endpapers; all page edges gilt. xi, (1), 118; viii, 80, (2) pages; printed and attractively engraved titles in red and black; 48 + 7 + 38 handsome photolithographic and photogravure plates of coins and currency bound in on hinges. Bindings somewhat worn, particularly at spines, though intact and still impressive. Very good. A handsomely bound set of this great classic work on siege money, handsomely designed and printed.
