Dr. Richard Gaettens, who catalogued the sale and was one of the proprietors of the Riechmann firm, wrote in the Foreword that the collection was being sold on behalf of the widow of the collector, and that the offerings include excellent originals from Schwarz, Hagenauer, Gebel, and Deschler. Religious medals of the 16th century are well represented, with particularly notable pieces by Hans Reinhart the Elder and the Joachimstaler School. Clain-Stefanelli 14156.
