MS61 ME | Elizabeth II (1952-), Decimal Ten Pence, 1980, mistrike on a nickel blank weighing 7.99g, crowned bust right, obverse portrait by Arnold Machin, legend with date surrounding and beaded outer border, ELIZABETH. II D. G. REG. F. D. 1980, rev. crowned lion prancing left over 10 value, legend above NEW PENCE, edge partially milled (S.F1). Toned, the milling weak as the blank being smaller than a regular ten pence did not quite fill the die to receive full edge marking, has been graded by NGC as MS61 – Mint Error, Struck on a Foreign Planchet (8g), very rare.



NGC Certification 6030971-001.

This planchet was probably intended for a Canada 50 Cents of 1980 which weighed 8.1g at the time of issue.
