The Lombards at Pavia. Liutprand (712-744). AV Tremissis. Obv. Legend partly obscure: [DN LIV]TPR[ ] Diademed and draped bust right; S/I and dots in right field; on bust, Rx ligate (?). Rev. Legend partly confused : S(inverted) C S(inverted) I HΛIL. St. Michael, winged, standing left, holding staff ending in trefoil and round shield. Cf. MEC 1, 322 var; Cf. Wroth 1-3 var. AV. 1.23 g. 23.00 mm. R. Rare and very attractive. Good VF.
