SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos II Kallinikos, 246-225 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.91 g, 12 h), a contemporary imitation from an irregular mint. Diademed head of Seleukos II to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ Apollo standing left, extending his right hand and leaning left on tripod; to inner left, AΣ above Λ. SC -. WSM 1639 and pl. LXXX, 2 (same dies). A lovely imitation with a charming portrait and a curiously crude reverse. Die break on the obverse and with faint cleaning scratches, otherwise, about extremely fine.
