SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos VIII Epiphanes (Grypos), 121/0-97/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.71 g, 12 h), Damaskos, SE 195 = 118/7. Diademed head of Antiochos VIII to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ - ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ Zeus Ouranios standing front, head to left, holding star in his right hand and long scepter in his left; above, crescent; to left, two monograms; in exergue, EꟼΡ; all within laurel wreath. SC 2322.5. Lightly toned and with a beautiful portrait. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die and with a minor die break on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
