C. Cassius, 126 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 4.00 g, 3 h), Rome. Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet, pendant earring and pearl necklace; behind, star (mark of value) above voting urn. Rev. C•CASSI / ROMA Libertas driving galloping quadriga to right, holding pileus in her right hand and vindicta and reins in her left. Babelon (Cassia) 1. Crawford 266/1. RBW 1075. Sydenham 502. Nicely toned. Very light porosity and faint scratches on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
