LYCIA. Araxa. Circa 390-380 BC. Diobol or Sixth Stater (Silver, 14 mm, 1.30 g, 1 h). Facing lion's scalp. Rev. 𐊀𐊕𐊀𐊉𐊆 - 𐊛𐊁 ('Arathihe' in Lycian) Female head facing, wearing radiate crown, single pendant earrings and necklace; all within circular incuse. Müseler VII, 57 (same dies). Roma Numismatics 10 (2015), 541 (same reverse die). Extremely rare. A wonderful piece with a very attractive reverse. Somewhat rough, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
