ARABIA, Eastern. Uncertain, circa 3rd-2nd centuries BCE. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.24 g, 7 h), imitating Alexander 'the Great' (336-323 BCE). Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Zeus/Shams seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, crescent above A (?); to right, blundered Greek legend; below, illegible Aramaic (?) inscription. CCK 141. Very fine.
