NILVS Nilus reclining left on sphinx, holding cornucopiae in his right hand and reed in his left; to left, hippopotamus standing right; below, in water, crocodile right. BMC 855 (same dies). Cohen -, cf. 983 (laureate). Calicó 1290 (same dies). RIC 1549 (same dies). Very rare. A lovely example of this interesting issue with a fine portrait. Matte surfaces typical of a water find, otherwise, good very fine.
