Jordan 1949 (Dated 1955) Thomas de la Rue Specimen Book
Printer Thomas de la Rue created this handsome presentation book for their artistry to be on full display. Each denomination is included twice, so that there is complete access to all design elements for each note. Interestingly, this beautiful set is bound in a book dated 1955, a full three years after each denomination was issued into circulation. Both notes for each denomination are true Specimens, printed on both sides, with solid zero serial numbers and Specimen overprints applied diagonally in an open font. We have been unable to find any other sales of complete books, although a few individual pieces with this specimen font have been seen, indicating that perhaps two or three of these books were produced. Very rare as a complete mounted set, and sure to please even the most discerning bidder. Includes two of each of the following notes: 500 Fils Pick-5Aas, 1 Dinar Pick-6as, 5 Dinars Pick-7as and 10 Dinars Pick-8as.
