LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 510-470 BC. Drachm or Third Stater (Silver, 17.5 mm, 2.75 g, 12 h). [MET] Ear of barley with seven grains; around, border of dots. Rev. Ear of barley with seven grains, all incuse; rayed border. HN III 1460. Noe 29-33. SNG ANS 174-7. SNG Lockett 373-4. Well-centered and with lovely metal; an unusually nice small denomination. Weak area on obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
