UMAYYAD: Zuhayr b. Abi 'Alqama (745±), bronze fals (2.50g), Al-Mawsil mint, AH 120s. Obverse field "la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" ("there is neither power nor ability except through Allah"), reverse margin "bismillah amril-amir zuhayr ibn abi 'alqama bil-mawsil" ("In the name of Allah, order of the commander Zuhayr Ibn Abi 'Alqama at Al-Mawsil"). Unpublished in Walker. Choice strike, very fine. Very rare.

One of the nicest conditions of this rarity to appear in the market. A recent example, in cruder and much lower quality, sold in MKIC Auction 5 (lot 46) for $144.
