*Antonio Abondio (1538-96), Venus at her Toilet, oval bronze plaquette, signed with Abondio's monogram and showing Venus with two female attendants one of whom combs her hair whilst Cupid at her side holds up a mirror, 93.0 x 71.4mm (Molinier 355; Weber 650), pierced, very fine contemporary cast with brown patina. Weber records 10 examples in lead (including one, in Budapest, with the date 1587) and only a single bronze example in the Basel Historical Museum.
