THRACE, Mesambria. Circa 225-175 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30mm, 16.76 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, crested Corinthian helmet right; monogram below throne. Karayotov I – (obv. die O34); Price 1012 corr. (monogram); HGC 3, 1567; ANS inv. 1944.100.35752 (same dies). In NGC encapsulation 4278365-003, graded Ch XF, Strike: 5/5, Surface: 4/5. Very rare, none noted by Karayotov, only the ANS piece in Pella (referenced by Price), three in CoinArchives.

Karayotov omits this issue from his die combination listing, but does list the type under his catalog no. 206.
