Albania
Zog I gold 100 Franga Ari 1937-R MS63 PCGS, Rome mint, KM21, Fr-11, Mont-18 (R). Mintage: 500. Struck for the 25th anniversary of Albanian independence. A classic Albanian rarity that always comes highly contested due to its already low mintage, and even more so when found in Choice Mint State and finer. The present example is both conditionally and visually superior to most we have offered, imbued with flashes of brilliance at even the most subtle flick of the wrist, highlighting a paucity of grade-defining ticks. For comparison, the Paramount specimen was only an MS62, and brought $5040 in March. Sold with old collector's tag and B. Max Mehl Farouk sale tag.
