Great Britain
William I, the Conqueror (1066-1087) Penny ND (c. 1083-1086) MS62 NGC, London mint, Brihtwine as moneyer, Paxs type, S-1253, N-848. 1.37gm. +ǷILLEM REX, crowned and diademed bust of William facing, scepter in right hand held to left shoulder / +BRIHTǷINE ON LVN, cross pattee with annulet containing one letter of PAXS in each angle. Only mildly doubled on the obverse, though this is of no serious visual detriment, with a surprisingly clear reverse given the rusted nature of the die. Always a covetable king in Mint State, and a coin that is essentially devoid of noticeable handling.
