Orange. Raymond V gold Florin d'Or ND (1340-1393) AU55 NGC, Fr-189 (listed under Raymond III and Raymond IV), Dup-2072. 3.44gm. + R • DI • G | P • AuRA, stylized lily / S • IOHA | NNES • B •, St. John the Baptist nimbate and mantled, standing facing, scepter in left hand, raising right in benediction, helmet above. Strikingly eye-catching and comparatively well-preserved for this frequently low-quality series. Aside from the mildest friction atop the highest points of the design, nearly all of the motifs are fully detailed, the outer beaded border present along the whole of the coin's circumference, and just hints of the engraver's guide visible over both sides.
