The first year for this resumed 5 Bolivares denomination, it is nearly identical to the previous type (1879-1889) with the primary difference being the amended date on the right side of the ribbon on the reverse that is dated 13 de Abril 1864 instead of the previously depicted 28 de Marzo 1864. The earlier date refers to the date the constitution was created by the assembly, while the latter date refers to when it was ratified by President Juan Crisostomo Falcon.
