HGC-2, 122; BAR Issue-14. Obverse: Laureate head of Zeus right; Reverse: Eagle standing right, with wings spread, E to right. Despite being slightly off-center, this example displays strong and seemingly endless mint luster that is virtually unknown on ancient coins. This type was likely struck by Hannibal's forces during their rampage through Italy during the Second Punic War, making this one of the earlier forms of occupation coinage.
