HGC-2, 1289; SNG ANS-350-6. Obverse: Head of Herakles left, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Quadripartite incuse square, Σ-Y-P-A in quarters; in deeper incuse circle in center, small female head (Arethousa?) left, wearing necklace. This choice example bears brilliant luster and shows almost no evidence of handling. This fractional piece also has a details applied very strongly to the incuse reverse, far surpassing most specimens of this type.
