HGC-3.2, 1798 (this coin illustrated); SNG Stancomb-204. Struck in the name and types of Lysimachos. Obverse: Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon; Reverse: Athena seated left on throne, holding crowning Nike; monogram to inner left, IΣ on throne; in exergue, ornate trident left. A great example of this type channeling the design of the Thracian king Lysimachos, with tremendous brilliance shimmering throughout and a particularly bold reverse strike.
