PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Kleopatra IV with Ptolemy XI Alexander, 107/6-101 B.C. AR Didrachm (6.85 gms), Uncertain mint in Cyprus. NGC EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5. Scratch.
Svor-1802; SNG Cop-640-41 var. (symbol). Obverse: Draped bust of Dionysos right, wearing ivy wreath and with thyrsos over shoulder; Reverse: Eagle, with wings spread, standing left on thunderbolt; Macedonian helmet to left. A VERY RARE type from late in the Ptolemaic period of Egypt, this silver issue features great metal quality and an excellent overall strike.
