MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Philip III, 323-317 B.C. AR Tetradrachm (17.24 gms), Miletos Mint, ca. 323-319 B.C. NGC Ch EF★, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 5/5.
Pr-2099b. In the name and types of Alexander III. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, with legs crossed, holding eagle and scepter; grain ear in left field. Incredibly enticing and alluring, this barely handled specimen presents a well centered strike on a full, round flan, while some underlying brilliance radiates when cradled back and forth in one's hand. Fully deserving of its star designation for intense appeal.
