HGC-4, 1653; SNG Cop-9; Jameson-2488 (this coin). "Wappenmünzen" type. Obverse: Wheel with four spokes; Reverse: Quadripartite incuse square. This boldly struck and immaculately detailed early Obol is extravagantly preserved for the type, bearing none of the issues commonly encountered. Very minimal evidence of handling is present, and the small flan is of an attractive shape and color.
