Just 1,421 medals were awarded with these two clasps. The Civil Service Rifle Company was a Canadian unit, based in Ottawa. They were called out on March 7, 1866, and dismissed on April 5, 1866, for the first Fenian Raids and again returned to active duty for six weeks beginning May 25, 1870, for the second wave of raids.
