THE AMERICAN NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION CENTENNIAL ANTHOLOGY. Wolfeboro, 1991. 4to, original maroon leatherette, gilt. (12), 372 pages; text illustrations. Fine. The main work is a remarkable source of useful information, being a history of the association "as taken from the pages of The Numismatist," viewed from the author's perspective, and is an excellent distillation featuring quite a number of useful appendices and two indices. The anthology issued at the same time is important, and includes Eric P. Newman's "Heath's Counterfeit Detectors: An Extraordinarily Successful Comedy of Errors" and Martin Gengerke's "History of the Fractional Currency Presentation Books," both of which are listed in Kolbe's Reference Library.
