Varying formats, most in octavo in original printed card covers. Numbers indicated with an asterisk are either hand-priced or include a printed prices realized list. A few lack covers or the covers are detached. Generally very good to near fine. A substantial collection, being a good starter set of 109 of the 292 numbered Tom Elder sales issued over the 36 years of his prolific career-more than a third of them. It is only in recent years that Elder's catalogues have begun to be adequately appreciated. With so many sales to his credit, Elder handled an enormous number of coins throughout the nearly four decades he held auction sales. This significant lot includes a number of notable sales, including Levick (1907), Gschwend (1908), Mougey (1910), both Appleton sales (1913), Poillon (1918), McMullin (1921), Lynch, Walker & Tilden (1921), Wright, Saltus & Buckholtz (1923), Skilton (1925), McAleenan & Broadbent (1928), Lawrence (1929) and many others.
