Without the usually seen marker. Nearly fine. One of the major pre-Sheldon works on U.S. large cents. Usually encountered with a silk marker, to the end of which is appended what has always been described as a "cent gauge," despite the fact that it isn't the size of a large cent and serves no readily apparent purpose. Davis 745. Voted as one of the Numismatic Bibliomania Society's "One Hundred Greatest Items of United States Numismatic Literature."
