SCVTVM : FIDEI : PROTEGET : EVM '. youthful bare head and cuirassed bust right, double lozenge stops, 2.68g [41.4grns], 3h, p.m. -/arrow (Potter 1(b); Montagu II, 796 same dies; Lord Hastings = Hilton-Price 113 = Moon = Bruun 600 = Drabble 142 same dies; Ryan 240 same dies; Lockett 1863 same dies; Schneider I, 676 same dies; North 1913; Spink 2441), faint traces of crimping on a neat round flan, otherwise of 'honest' appearance with a handsome overlying orange-brown cabinet tone, a pleasing very fine, extremely rare and a technical superior to the recently offered Hird example.
