India, Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, specimen Minto Medal, a light-bronze rectangular specimen or artist's proof medal by Allan Gairdner Wyon, bust of Earl of Minto three-quarters left, 9th July 1845 1st March 1914, EARL OF MINTO, K.G. VICEROY OF INDIA 1905-1910, rev. tropical landscape with palm-trees, CALCUTTA SCHOOL OF TROPICAL MEDICINE FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH IN INDIA, 70 x 47mm (An example of the specimen medal was donated to the Fitzwilliam Museum by the medalist's son-in-law [CM.8-2005]; cf Pudd. 948.48.1). Good extremely fine and very rare.

Gilbert Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 4th Earl of Minto also served as Governor General of Canada.
