L E Herakles advancing left, with his lion's skin tied around his neck, raising club, held in his right hand, and preparing to strike the Hydra, portrayed as a woman with serpent feet and with a left arm ending in snakes, whom he grasps with his left hand. An extremely rare type with a fascinating view of Herakles attacking the partially human Hydra of Lerna. Dark brown patina with reddish-gold highlights. Traces of cleaning , flan fault on the obverse, and some smoothing, otherwise, good very fine.
