SIGILLVM AMALRICE Amaury, seated facing on a backless throne, wearing a crown, holding scepter surmounted with cross in his right hand, and globus surmounted by a trefoil ornament in his left. Rev. REGIS IERVSALEM The city of Jerusalem, represented by a crenelated wall with a central gate. Behind the wall on the left, the Holy Sepulchre; in the middle, the Tower of David; and on the right, the Temple. DO Seals 5, 19.2. H. E. Mayer, "Ein unbekanntes Kreuzfahrersiegel," 210. An exciting and rare bulla with an evocative reverse. With uncleaned deposits and old damages, otherwise, about extremely fine.
