João V gold 10000 Reis 1725-M AU55 NGC, Minas Gerais mint, KM116, LMB-245. The more attainable fraction of the "Dobrões" series, a 1/2 Dobrão. Struck in the Minas Gerais province of Vila Rica, where the Portuguese extracted most of the Brazilian gold, this short-lived issue departed from the duodecimal system that included 12,800 Réis coin as its largest denomination. A popular type, showing chiseled devices over lustrous and somewhat reflective fields, making it very sharp for the grade.
