JORDAN: AE medal, ND (2018), Numista-141514, 60mm bronze medal for the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Karameh (21 March 1968), 3 soldiers from the Jordanian army holding a colorized flag of Jordan, with state name at the top and battle name and date below, and a saying by King Abdullah II, all in Arabic // The Martyr's Memorial with Arabic text around top and "(Arabic text) / The Martyr's Memorial" in exergue, in original plush black case with COA, reeded edge, Prooflike UNC. The Battle of Karameh was a 15-hour military engagement between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and combined forces of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) in the Jordanian town of Karameh on March 21, 1968, during the War of Attrition. It was planned by Israel as one of two concurrent raids on PLO camps, one in Karameh and one in the distant village of Saficodenamed Operation Inferno and Operation Asuta, respectivelybut the former turned into a full-scale battle.
