EGYPT: LOT of 100 billon paras, mostly of Mahmud II (1808-1839) and his immediate predecessors Abdul Hamid I and Selim III; only a few with clear mint name and very few with legible date or regnal year, total weight 20.96g; many are contemporary imitations, average crude Fine condition; retail value $300, lot of 100 pieces. Because of the significant number of imitations it is likely that this group came from South Arabia or the Horn of East Africa.
