TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th-18th century, cast large tin coin (65.64g), Robinson-18 (Plate 10.1), 69.7mm, mythical hintha bird facing right, Burmese legend around, which means "city of great happiness" // knotted dragon above the sea, wonderfully bold, fantastic example! EF-AU, RRR. Three examples have been sold at our Auctions 33, 35, and 38, and this piece is also from the same mold. This is perhaps the finest of all four pieces.
