EGYPT. Alexandria. Trajan, 98-117. Drachm (Bronze, 34 mm, 19.39 g, 1 h), RY 16 = 112/3. ΑΥΤ ΤΡΑΙΑΝ CЄΒ ΓЄΡM ΔΑΚΙΚ Laureate heroic nude bust of Trajan to right, with aegis on his left shoulder. Rev. ЄΙΡΗΝΗ ΚΑI ΟΜΟΝΟ-ΙΑ / L Iς Eirene, on the left, standing right, holding grain ears in her left hand and clasping hands with Homonoia, on the right, standing left, holding double cornucopiae in her left hand. Dattari (Savio) 7006 ff. Emmett 450.16. K&G 27.445. RPC III 4715.5. Sharply struck and with a beautiful brown patina. Minor flan faults and with light deposits, otherwise, good very fine.


From the collection of a historian ('Aus der Sammlung eines Altertumswissenschaftlers'), Künker 347, 22 March 2021, 93, previously privately acquired from Günther Schlüter (Berlin) in August 1996, who reportedly acquired it from Spink in November 1967.
