Titus, as Caesar, 69-79. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 2.91 g, 11 h), uncertain mint in Asia Minor (Ephesus?), 76. T CAES IMP VESP CENS Laureate head of Titus to right; below, annulet. Rev. COS - VII Eagle standing slightly to left on altar, wings spread and head to right. BMC 485. Cohen 61. RIC 1481. RPC II 1457. Rare. Lustrous and beautifully toned, an exceptional piece and likely the finest known. Thin flan crack, otherwise, virtually as struck.
